Silicone Vs Latex Swim Cap - Putting Them On Properly
Brighten the Night (and Your Kids' Spirits) With Glow Sticks by Jim Busby
Glow sticks are a safe, practical way to add color and fun to your Fourth of July or other summertime celebrations. They come in a variety of sizes and colors and are sure to delight kids of all ages.
Summer means fun. And summer means playing outside. Summer also means weekend-long family reunions, holiday celebrations and parties. Be prepared for those extended events by stocking up on glow sticks for your nighttime outdoor events.
Glow sticks are small wands (the most popular size is six inches - although you can get glow necklaces and glow glasses, as well) that contain reactive, non-toxic substances. When the stick is bent, a little glass tube inside the plastic stick breaks, allowing the two substances to combine to create a long-lasting glow. In the case of necklaces or glasses, you give them a quick snap to combine the non-toxic chemical substances.
These fun little light emitters are great for extending the life of your party. And now, with the summer holidays coming up, you'll want to make sure you've got plenty of them on hand. Use them for Memorial Day, Independence Day (they're more fun than sparklers - not to mention safer and more long lasting!) and Labor Day, too. And don't forget your own individual celebrations - graduation parties, beach parties, romantic getaways, camping trips - the possibilities are endless.
Glow sticks are a great promotional item to sell at town celebrations that extend into the evening hours. Kids love the brilliant colors and the long-lasting glow - and parents love the safety factor and economical price.
Parents also like the convenience of having glow sticks available in multiple colors. They can choose a separate color for each of their children, let them go play and still be able to locate them after dark.
But grownups appreciate glow sticks for other reasons, too. They lend special ambience to adult functions like late-evening dining al fresco, pool parties, backyard parties - even intimate gatherings for two by the pool or hot tub. Dangle the glow sticks (using their attached strings) from porch or deck rails or tree branches; insert them into latex balloons before inflating and hang strings of cleverly lighted balloons by the pool or hot tub to add atmosphere. And watch them dance and sway in the slightest breeze.
Even adults' summer-night events can benefit from some brightening up: evening pool parties, backyard parties, apartment-dwellers' porch parties perhaps even a midnight swim or a quiet soak for two in the hot tub. You can try hanging glow sticks from low-hanging tree branches for a fun, festive touch (doing that yields an especially appealing effect when there's a slight breeze and the glow sticks sway in the dark).
Plus, one of these clever little glow sticks is just the right thing to have on hand when you and that special person want to go for a long moonlit walk and the moon is nowhere to be found.

Frequently Asked Questions...
Will a latex swim cap keep your hair dry?
I have to start swiming in PE tomarrow and i have really frizzy and curly hair. I streaghten my hair everyday so it looks good. I am still not going to try my hardest in swimming, but i was wondering if the cap would keep my head dry if i did the back crawl and front crawl. Also would it keep my hair dry if i had to do a cannon ball into the pool. Thanks for the help.
Answer:
Your hair should stay dry wearing a latex cap just be super careful not to let bits hang out and it is best to put it up first in a bun. If u put it up just bring a straightener. Maybe if you test the cap out in the shower tonight just get your head wet and take it off to see if it works! Disadvantages of these caps are that they can be hard to slip on and have a tendency to roll up at the edges and pull hair along. These caps will not cover the ears fully and leakage can be a problem.Very light to wear as they are thin so care must be taken not to start a rip by puncturing with a finger nail. If not pulled down fully a "pop off" may occur.Almost all are the same size and they will stretch to fit most head sizes. I had the same problem! well hope it helps!
