Stronger Than Before Sun Country Airlines Returns
Sun Country Airlines soon formed after a much larger airline, Braniff, decided to close their doors for good. What happened was former Braniff employees wanted to create a new airline company. Sun Country began operating out of Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota, and they were a small regional airline.
They initially only flew to Las Vegas, but then they branched into other southern destinations as well as Mexico. Part of their reputation was built on taking people to warmer places to escape the cold winters. They closed their doors to business in December of 2001, but then they were resurrected by investors. This article will give you a lot to think about with Sun Country Airlines.
Sun Country has managed to instill a core set of principles in their business that reflects the true nature of a quality air carrier. All air travelers want to get where they are going with no problems, and that is what Sun Country tries very hard to give. Straight from their website: "In today's world of compromises, we still believe in in-flight meals, personable customer service, and your inalienable right to enjoy air travel." Sun Country operates according to their business philosophy, and the various forms of recognition they have received attests to that.
After many years of hardship, it was announced late 2010 that Sun Country would take up the reins for travel from Lansing Michigan to Washington National near Washington DC. This is really tremendous news for Sun Country Airlines. As you may imagine, the flight will start from Minneapolis, and then proceed to Lansing and then eastward.
The airline will stop at Lansing to pick up passengers and then continue to Washington DC. This is all very recent news at the time of this writing, so the stops have not actually been put into service, yet. These will also be daily stops at Lansing which will be more business for the airline.
About one year ago, in December of 2009, Sun Country Airlines treated a group of 80 children in ages ranging from 5 -12 to an imaginary flight to the North Pole. So it is no surprise they named it: A Flight To The North Pole. Local chapters of United Way - Big Brothers and Big Sisters were also involved in this event. The goal was simply to give the youngsters a truly one of a kind and unique Christmas holiday experience. The employees told the children about flying to the North Pole, all the while they were just taxiing around on the airfield. Sun Country Airlines is in the middle of bankruptcy reorganization, but everyone including their creditors are very optimistic. Yes, of course they have been through a lot over the years, but they have a strong team that can pull them out of it. They have tremendous experience, and so they will know what the right moves are to make. There is nothing that can be done by any one company about the economic climate in which they have to operate. We have every confidence about their ability to come back stronger than before.
